چکیده
Urbanization is one of the major causes destruction natural habitats in world. Cities are urban heat islands and can thus significantly influence populations plants animals. The research project SPEEDY investigated effects urbanization northern Belgium with a nested sampling design at local landscape scales for variety organisms. Here, we tested on non-marine ostracod communities, 81 small pools three categories, as defined by percentage built up cover (low, intermediate, high). We identified 17 species, together occurring 60 sampled pools. found that per se had no significant effect communities. Of all measured factors, ammonium total phosphorus concentrations community structure. In contrast, water temperature effect, most likely because species present survey mostly have wide tolerances.

On three new species of non-marine ostracods (Crustacea: Ostracoda) from Northeast Thailand.
Three new species of non-marine ostracods, Strandesia martensi n. sp., Strandesia pholpunthini n. sp. and Oncocypris rostrata n. sp., are here described from the Northeastern part of Thailand. Strandesia martensi n. sp. is similar to Strandesia perakensis Victor & Fernando, 1981 and to Strandesia sanoamuangae Savatenalinton & Martens, 2010. It can be distinguished from these two species by the ...
متن کاملAn annotated checklist of the Recent non-marine ostracods (Ostracoda: Crustacea) from Italy.
We present an updated checklist of non-marine ostracods from Italy. Data were obtained from the published literature up to April 2013 and new collections carried out in 18 out of 20 Italian regions. Altogether, 1665 ostracod samples were collected from 1241 new sites visited between 1981 and 2013. Sites were selected to encompass the most widespread types of freshwater aquatic habitats (i.e., p...
متن کاملBiodiversity of non-marine ostracods (Crustacea, Ostracoda) in the alluvial valley of the upper Paraná River, Brazil.
In the present study, we test the relevance of a number of environmental factors on alpha and beta ostracod diversities, at species and family level. Ostracods were sampled from several substrates, including sediment and root systems of various floating aquatic macrophytes, from 48 environments (both lentic and lotic habitats, ranging from the river itself, over connecting channels linking with...
متن کاملPreliminary report on the living non-marine Ostracoda (Crustacea) from Tunisia with the description of a new Psychrodromus species.
Since 1928, Henri Gauthier has been the only zoologist to describe the extant non-marine ostracod fauna of Tunisia. In 2010, new samples of living non-marine ostracods were collected from central and southern Tunisia. A complete list of the 41 non-marine ostracods of Tunisia is presented, including the species of Gauthier's work, published Holocene records, and new results from our field study....
